Tui Na Chinese Medicine Massage

Tui Na, meaning literally “pushing-grasping,” is the name commonly used to refer to Chinese medical massage. The techniques of Tui Na is an extremely effective at treating a wide variety of problems, including structural misalignment, orthopedic problems and sports injuries, as well as internal diseases.

Tui Na gave birth to modern day therapies including, Sports massage and Osteopathy. It is a gentle/firm massage technique which requires movement and pressure. It involves pressing, tapping, and kneading with the palms and fingertips. Its aims are to remove energy blockages, increase blood flow, correct posture and promote healing. Traditional Chinese medical theory is that the flow of energy or the of the flow of Qi through the meridians as its basic therapeutic orientation. Through the application of massage and manipulation techniques Tuina seeks to establish a more harmonious flow of Qi energy through the system of channels and collaterals, allowing the body the naturally heal itself.
